Anyone know of any good live online yoga platforms?
Main Post:
I recently moved and have had trouble finding a studio that I like in my new area, so I’m considering going virtual. Anyone know of any platforms with power vinyasa? I’m open to paying up to $100/month
Top Comment: I love the Peloton app. I pay $19 a month and love the yoga. You can take live classes or one of the 1000s of on demand classes. All styles and many 45-60 min power classes. Bonus is all the other material you get with it (strength, barre, Pilates, outdoor, walk, ru, cycle, stretch, meditation).
Recommendations for Yoga Live Stream Studios?
Main Post:
I want to start practicing Yoga more regularly again, but for that I need fixed weekly appointments (in other words: having to be present online at a specific time or otherwise losing the class).
Unfortunately I don't have any good yoga studios nearby, so searching online. Any recommendations? I've seen Unit Yoga in Germany but it's pretty pricy.

The Iyengar Yoga Institute in NYC does most of their classes as hybrid in person/online.

Is Online Yoga really worth it?

Top Comment: I love it, I never would’ve been so committed to yoga if I had to go somewhere. It’s just not practical for my schedule and life. Online is such a gift.
What are the virtual yoga classes like?
Main Post:
I’m both a Reddit and an OTF noob, and I can’t figure out how to search this sub, so sorry if this is a common question. I didn’t see this asked in the last few days of scrolling.
I’m on the fence about upgrading to a premier membership. I’m also thinking about ways to add in additional movement and exercise on the days I can’t go into the gym. It would probably be worth the increase in cost if I also did the virtual classes, but I don’t want to “use up” one of my classes on the virtual class just to see if I’d like it — a real chicken or the egg conundrum here!
One of the things I like about OTF is the live coach with form corrections and tips. My only experience with yoga is doing prenatal yoga from YouTube videos so I really have no idea if I’m doing anything with proper form. But my schedule doesn’t allow me to go into a gym every day of the week.
So, what are the virtual yoga classes like? Are they worth it? If I upgrade, I would probably also try to make it in-person an extra time every week or two.

I’m a novice when it comes to yoga and I found the virtual yoga to be more stretching with some yoga moves than a true yoga class. But might be worth it to try one class and see if worth the upgrade

Online Yoga Subscriptions Recommendations
Main Post:
Hi Everone!
I have been doing yoga on and off for a couple of years and was pretty consistent with doing Iyengar Yoga prior to the pandemic. That studio has since closed and I realized that I do much better with sticking to practice when I have a class to go to. I've grown accustomed to doing yoga at home and was wondering what everyone else is using as a subscription service or if they have one they recommend. I started the trial for Eckhart Yoga and do like it so far. I have also tried Haus of Phoniex which I really like, however, I was only able to try 3 classes and haven't committed to the membership yet. I'm not looking for a workout yoga class and when I have too much variety to choose from I feel overwhelmed with what to pick. My goals are to become stronger, and more flexible, and I am seeking the spiritual component, maybe that's any yoga class. Any suggestions and feedback is welcomed! :)
What an awesome community. A big thank you to everyone that replied. This is excellent feedback and I can't wait to look into the recommendations.

Not only yoga as exercise/stretching but the elements of how to life happy balanced life. But I want to know more and mainly in some comprehencive format as Daily to do list. I would appreciate the tips for some books or journals/blogs with this stuff. Also if you have some yoga tips for ADHD and bipolar Guy living pretty health life with very clean food most of a time a lot of exercise and mild drug abuse problem (coke a mdma/mcat ocassionaly, kratom Daily and weed 1-7 days a week depends on how it.makes me feel better or worst). My drug abuse includes any thing that increases my dopamine levels at least a bit so I can calm my brain and then do some thing usefull or do tons of things at the same time but almost needlessly as cleaning before work. Overstimulated brain with lack of dopamine shifts with lethargy and massive sleepiness. I work be so glad for.any tips that could help and Thank you for reading this confession
Top Comment: Namaste. You will want to read about the noble eightfold path as taught by Sidhartha Gautama (there was a lovely post yesterday on him) and the original Ashtanga Yoga as taught by Patanjali. Not sure if you were looking for a longer checklist. I'll be happy to help if you need more details.
Online yoga classes : are live or pre-recorded better?

Yoga is about community and bringing people together. Anything that facilitates feeling part of a community is "better". This depends on the individual and situation. Is there group chat, or other individuals visable, shout outs to participants, challenge board? Really anything that helps one feel involved and part of the group is better. Good luck!
What would be the best online Yoga classes?
Main Post:
Are the best ones all behind a paywall or can you get great classes for free on YouTube? I don't mind paying for classes but I'd also like to know what I can get for free and if the paid ones are worth it.
Top Comment: Okay so here’s a brief summary of my story - I began my yoga journey on YouTube for FREE with Yoga With Adrienne.. from there I took in-person classes.. 6 years on I am training to be a teacher myself and guess what? I still regularly do Yoga With Adrienne on YouTube! If you’re new to it it’s always good to do a few with an instructor so they can adjust your alignment but I would not be paying to watch a video of someone talking me through it when it’s available for free!
